The Loop Festival at the Hivve

Aggregate Collective is excited to announce their second annual installment of "The Loop Festival," happening August 11-14, 2025 at The Hivve in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon. Aggregate Collective is a theatre company based in Southern Oregon that uses a value set of radical hospitality and shared learning to guide programming and operations. In the past few years they have been a part of developing several new works, culminating in their flagship project that debuted last year, “The Loop Festival.” "The Loop Festival" is a unique New Works Festival bringing together professional artists, directors, and playwrights from across the country with the goal of cultivating the development of Young Adult Theatre. Three new works will be given the chance to be read, heard and responded to by a live audience, while the playwrights join in virtually to be a part of both the rehearsal process and the feedback “loop” after the performance. The scripts selected this year include: “My Tree,” written by Samara Siskind, “Good Knight Cyberella," written by V.B Rankin, and the musical “In BeTween" with music by Nicky Phillips, lyrics by Sarah Ziegler, and book by Steven Gallagher. On Thursday, August 14th, the public is invited to attend the Festival for a day-long staged reading presentation of the three new works, all written in the genre of Young Adult Theatre. Young Adult Theatre includes plays that tell stories relevant to young adults and written for young adult actors to perform. After each presentation, the audience participates in a facilitated discussion and acts as responders to the play. These responses may inform how the playwright adapts the play in the future. Approximately thirty young adult actors from all around Southern Oregon will be participating in a three-day development process prior to the presentation. In this process leading up to the reading, the young adult actors act as cultural consultants for the playwrights and provide insight and responds to the authenticity of the writing. The rehearsals and the presentation will take place at The Hivve, a multimedia performance venue in downtown Grants Pass. The staged readings will be guided by professional theatre directors from across the country, including Kristen Fogle of California, Marjorie Treger of California, and Bradley Behrmann of Illinois. The Loop Festival will be facilitated by local theatremakers Julia Cuppy, Jaese Lecuyer, and Tianna Eddy and hosted by Trever Yarrish and The Hivve in Grants Pass. While exact performance times are TBA, all three readings will happen on Thursday, August 14th.
