Enjoy The Many Activities Illinois Valley Has to Offer

Raft the Wild and Scenic Illinois River

Mention the Illinois River to any experienced boater and their eyes will light up. Considered a crown jewel of Western Whitewater, the Wild and Scenic Illinois River is legendary for its Class IV-V rapids, beautiful camps, and jaw-dropping scenery. This 34-mile trip flows through the northern end of the famously rugged Kalmiopsis Wilderness, located about an hour south of Grants Pass. Its beauty can be seen in its emerald green water, giant boulders, cascading waterfalls, and diverse & unique plant life. Unlike the Rogue, the Illinois River is free-flowing so its current and levels can be unpredictable, so the best time to book a trip is March-May.

Explore Wine Country

Though the Willamette Valley is often regarded as Oregon’s wine capital, over the last decade, Southern Oregon has emerged as a world-class wine destination, known for its unique ability to grow a wide variety of grapes. Last year, Wine Enthusiast Magazine chose the Rogue Valley as 1-of-5 top wine regions in the world! Here you’ll find dozens of vineyards and tasting rooms throughout the Rogue, Applegate, and Illinois Valleys. During the fall harvest season, many wineries hold special events, including the Uncorked Barrel Tour, where you can have exclusive tastings and take home bottles at a discounted price.
