Dollar Mountain Trail System

A New Trail Destination in Grants Pass, Oregon

Just minutes from downtown, Dollar Mountain offers an incredible mix of hiking and mountain biking trails surrounded by sweeping views of the Rogue Valley. Built for both adventure and accessibility, this newly developed trail system is quickly becoming one of Southern Oregon’s premier recreation destinations.

Explore the Trails

With more than 11 miles of new multi-use and mountain bike-specific trails and improvements to over 20 miles of existing routes, Dollar Mountain has something for every outdoor enthusiast.

Designed by Ptarmigan Trails, the system features rolling singletrack, fast flow lines, and scenic ridge climbs perfect for a quick ride or an all-day outing. Trails range from beginner-friendly loops to more challenging descents for advanced riders, and all are open to hikers and e-bikers as well.

Whether you’re training for your next race, taking a family hike, or catching sunset views over Grants Pass, Dollar Mountain provides endless ways to connect with the outdoors.

About the Project

The Dollar Mountain Trail System was made possible through grant funding and matching contributions from the City of Grants Pass, with trail design by Ptarmigan Trails and community partnership from the Rogue Valley Mountain Bike Association (RVMBA).

The project’s goals go beyond recreation—its purpose is to:

  • Promote community health and outdoor wellness

  • Support sustainable use of public lands

  • Encourage stewardship and volunteer engagement

  • Boost local tourism and the economy

Phase 1 was completed in 2024, marking the beginning of a long-term vision to establish Dollar Mountain as a cornerstone of Southern Oregon’s trail network.

A Community Vision Come to Life

In 2020, the City of Grants Pass—supported by the National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program—conducted a community survey to assess local trail needs. The response was clear: residents wanted more mountain biking and hiking opportunities close to home.

With mountain biking (50%) and hiking (34%) ranking as top priorities, the city and its partners began transforming Dollar Mountain into a year-round recreation area.

Today, those ideas have become reality. Dollar Mountain now offers a vibrant new space for riders, runners, hikers, and families to explore—right in the heart of Grants Pass.
